Beckman Coulter Life Sciences Genomics division in North America is a provider of “SPRI” paramagnetic bead technology-based nucleic acid extraction/purification reagents along with the newest addition to our line of automated next generation sequencing (NGS) library construction instruments, the Biomek NGeniuS. We currently have an opening for a Genomics Sales Representative (GSR) role in the Pacific Northwest region. Territory includes: Northern CA, WA, OR, ID, MT, WY.

The GSR is responsible for direct sales of genomic sample prep workflow solutions including automation-friendly nucleic acid extraction and cleanup reagents in addition to Beckman’s purpose-built Biomek NGeniuS automated NGS library construction platform within the assigned territory. This individual must regularly meet assigned revenue goals for the territory by developing existing accounts while actively prospecting new business.

Position Details:

You, the Genomics Sales Representative, will be responsible for building and expanding relationships within existing customer organizations while establishing new revenue streams within a critically important high-growth territory. Top performers in role demonstrate a capacity for working with strategic cross-functional groups (e.g. scientific applications, marketing, sales operations, etc.), developing and managing a personalized sales plan and strategy for assigned accounts and territory, maintaining accurate sales forecasts based on territory quota, following proper SOP's for generating sales quotes and requesting technical support, coordinating seminars and product demo installations and providing regular feedback from the field to senior

leadership.

Regular travel within territory and infrequent visits to Indianapolis headquarters are required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Science or related field with 2+ years’ relevant work experience OR a Master’s degree in the field.
  • Individuals with successful consumable and/or capital equipment sales experience (as determined by quota attainment) within the Life Sciences research sector are highly preferable.
  • The ability to understand the science behind our products and basic laboratory experience is preferred. Candidates with lab experience specific to the applications of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), SNP Genotyping and Gene editing will warrant additional consideration.
  • Individual should be based in the territory, ideally in the Bay Area, and have current experience selling to academic, pharmaceutical, and biotech firms in that locale.
